There is no doubt that sitting too much or remaining seated for long periods of time is unhealthy. New research encourages us to get up and walk around more during the day, otherwise sitting could actually lead to premature death or other serious health problems. In addition, sitting for a long time can lead to back, neck, or leg pain. Fortunately, standing desks are becoming more popular and more affordable than you might think.
We looked to the research to find out the benefits of a treadmill desk and how to best integrate it into your workstation.
Benefits of a desktop treadmill !!!!!

Does a desktop treadmill help with weight loss?
A treadmill has many health benefits, including the potential for weight loss. However, the amount you lose depends on several factors. Remember, you are walking slowly on the treadmill , and although you are burning more calories than sitting, you are not burning as many as if you were walking fast and sweating. You also need to think about your diet. To lose weight, you must burn more calories than you eat daily.
In a small study of 15 obese office workers, they had them walk and work at an upright computer workstation on a treadmill at a slow pace of one mile per hour.3 They burned an additional 100 calories per hour.
If they used a desk for 2 to 3 hours a day, researchers estimated they could lose between 44 to 66 pounds per year (20 to 30 kilograms). This is an extreme estimate, as it assumes that they did not compensate for the calories with an additional snack or high-calorie drink.
Actual weight loss over a year of treadmill desk use was studied in a 2013 paper. They followed 36 people who used a treadmill desk for an average of an hour, and they lost an average of 1.4 kg (3.1 lbs). Obese people lost more weight, an average of 3.4 kg (7.5 lb). This is more realistic and shows what is more likely to happen in the real world.
